A rare example of a cool climate Sauvignon Blanc, ours is made in a fresh and clean style, without oak influence, and without malo-lactic fermentation. We grow this fruit on our estate Paragon Vineyard in a number of different blocks, the majority of them dating back to the original plantings in 1973. Each is harvested, fermented and aged separately, then blended just before bottling.Purchase
A prominent white wine made in Northwest Spain for centuries, Albariño has just recently taken a foothold in the U.S., specifically in the Edna Valley. We are excited to be at the forefront of the movement, and one of the first wineries to commit a significant portion of our vineyard to this varietal. A wine full of personality, Albariño is irresistibly aromatic, with layers of citrusy flavors and bright acidity.Purchase
Pinot Gris is perfectly suited to our Paragon Vineyard in the Edna Valley, the coolest wine region in California. The long growing season and extended hang time pave the way for clusters to develop concentrated berries bursting with complexity. Tangent Pinot Gris is smooth, with refreshingly crisp acidity.Purchase
A vibrant varietal with pure characteristics, our Viognier is a rare expression of this varietal when grown in an extreme cool climate. Exotic and very aromatic, Viognier especially shines when served with things like spice-rubbed poultry, all types of curries, and of course a wide array of shellfish.Purchase
A white Rhône varietal, Grenache Blanc is most commonly used as a blender in the Old World. But here in California, much to the delight of many wine drinkers, a few winemakers have discovered the merits of bottling it on its own. Medium to light-bodied, Tangent Grenache Blanc is balanced nicely by crisp acidity.Purchase
Cans are perfect for any outdoor occasion. No glass, no corkscrews, no hassles. Tangent embraces its innovative spirit by putting two revolutionary wines in cans.
The tip of the spear for wines in can… cool climate, estate, Paragon Vineyard designated and SIP Certified Sustainable. It’s a rarity to see pedigree like this for a wine in can. Made in a fresh clean style, loaded with bright flavors of grapefruit, green apple, lemon zest, and with hints of minerality. Silky and light, balanced with nice crisp acidity. Perfect for a wine in can!Purchase
Tangent is constantly innovating and thinking outside the box. Our Rosé represents a modern avant-garde approach to a new progressive category of New World Rosés. We turned the Rosé recipe upside down and utilized our unique and rare cool climate Paragon Vineyard Albariño and Viognier to build the base of crisp, clean, elegant, and vibrant fruit. From there the Pinot Noir, Grenache and Syrah brings in the bright strawberry and watermelon flavors.Purchase
While staying true to our fresh, crisp and vibrant style, our Small Batch Collection wines showcase just a little something extra special.
For this special Stone Egg Albariño, we took our best grapes and fermented them separately, 100% in a concrete egg-shaped tank. The concrete egg, which has no corners, facilitates a constant circulation of the wine, which adds more flavor and depth.Purchase
For this special Clone 530 Sauvignon Blanc, we decided to produce a wine solely from our favorite Clone. Clone 530 is one of the few clones that comes from the original home of Sauvignon Blanc, France’s Loire Valley. We grow it here on our Estate Paragon Vineyard with great success. With a lighter crop and small juicy berries, this clone produces some of the most expressive wine and is one of the best aromatic clones hands down.Purchase
Tangent Wines are estate grown and vineyard designated from our SIP-Certified Paragon Vineyard. Planted in 1973 by our family patriarch, Jack Niven, Paragon is located in the heart of the Edna Valley, the coolest growing region in California.Learn More
